Day 1 - Langkawi

Arrive: Fri 07 January 2022 / Depart: Fri 07 January 2022 at 19:00

Langkawi, officially known as Langkawi, the Jewel of Kedah, is a district and an archipelago of 99 islands in the Malacca Strait. some 30 km off the coast of northwestern Malaysia. The islands are a part of the state of Kedah, which is adjacent to the Thai border.

Day 2 - Penang

Arrive: Sat 08 January 2022 at 08:00 / Depart: Sat 08 January 2022 at 17:00

Penang is often said to be Malaysia’s most popular destination. And, with its melting pot of cultures and top-notch food scene, it’s easy to see why. You’ll disembark into UNESCO-accredited Georgetown. You can do your sightseeing on foot here, or hire a rickshaw to trundle around in. However you choose to explore, you’ll get a feel for the rich history of the town, which has left its mark in the form of picture-perfect Chinese and colonial architecture

Day 3 - Port Klang

Arrive: Sun 09 January 2022 at 07:00 / Depart: Sun 09 January 2022 at 18:00

Port Klang’s hidden from view as you coast along the Malacca Strait – you’ll weave between a quartet of green-tinted islands to make your way to the harbour. It’s the largest port in Malaysia, so it’s no surprise to see multi-coloured cranes lined up along the waterfront. There’s plenty of room for restaurants to get in on the act as well, and you’ll find seafood places perched just above the shallows. Port Klang’s also a good jumping off point for visiting Klang. This town’s cut from a different cloth to super-modern Kuala Lumpur, and instead serves up historic monuments, temples and lively shopping streets. Kuala Lumpur itself is just over an hour’s drive away, so it’s easy to pay the skyscraper-filled city a visit, too.

Day 4 - Sinagpore

Day 5 - At Sea

Day 6 - Koh samui Thailand

Day 7 - Laem Chabang

Arrive: Thu 13 January 2022 at 08:00

Laem Chabang’s sat on the southern coastline, overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, and is home to the country’s largest port. A gateway to the Chonburi Province, it’s got party-hard Pattaya as a neighbour, and connects to Bangkok – the capital – via an eight-lane motorway. On the horizon, you’ll be able to see the island of Ko Sichang. This tropical spot lines up the postcard-worthy, white-sand-and-blue-sea combo that Thailand’s become famous for.

Drive an hour and a half north from the port and the new expressway will lead you into the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City – the country’s former capital, which also goes by the name of Saigon. You can learn about the history of the Vietnam War by visiting the War Remnants Museum. Other popular spots include the historic Ban Thanh Market, the red-brick Notre Dame Cathedral and the French-style Post Office. Add on another hour’s drive from the port and you’ll reach the famous Cu Chi tunnels – a 200-kilometre underground network of passageways, which played a vital role in the war.

Marella Discovery 2 From Marella Cruises

In summer 2017, Marella Discovery 2 joined our fleet. Marella Discovery 2 is the sister ship to Marella Discovery – and this is why their names are so similar. Having two ships means you’re able to pair a wider choice of itineraries with the exciting features offered by this larger, more contemporary style of vessel. These include an outdoor cinema, a rock climbing wall, a minigolf course, an indoor pool and a glossy atrium. Not to mention the range of bars, excellent dining scene and night-time shows enhanced by up-to-the-minute technology. Just like Marella Discovery, Marella Discovery 2 is All Inclusive as standard. So, drinks, including prosecco and cider, meals in a selection of restaurants and most onboard activities are included in the cruise price. Flights and tips are both part of the package, too.
